TIPS FOR KEEPING YOUR DOG HEALTHY

As pet parents, we are constantly striving to make the best choices for our furry friends and provide them with the best (and healthiest) life possible.  While each dog’s individual needs may differ, there are a few key points to consider when providing a well-rounded lifestyle for your pooch:

  1. Run, Romp and Retrieve

All dogs need physical exercise, but the type, intensity and frequency of exercise your dog needs can vary based on age, energy level, health history and breed. Some dogs need to run for hours or else they might “re-decorate” your home; while others are content with a leisurely walk around town and then chillin’ on the couch.  You should be aiming to provide at least 30 minutes of physical activity each day.

  1.  Think Outside the Box

Pet parents can often get into a routine of doing the same thing with their dogs day after day. Don’t be afraid to change it up! New activities with your dog not only continue to strengthen your bond but also provides mental stimulation for your pup.  Dogs want to think!  Try teaching new tricks like back up or bow, play hide-and-seek with their toys, treats or even yourself, or take them on a different route for their daily walk. Not only do these new skills provide exercise, they will provide mental stimulation for your pet.

You can also offer your dog a Raw Meaty Bone once or twice a week. Chewing on Raw Meaty Bones provides mental stimulation and has the added benefit of cleaning your dog’s teeth at the same time!

  1. Raw Love in Every Bowl!

You know the saying, “You are what you eat”. When we start to learn about an overall healthy lifestyle for our companions we eventually circle back to proper nutrition. What you feed your dog fuels them from the inside out.  We are familiar with the benefits of raw

At Iron Will Raw we take raw feeding one step further and ensure that we are producing the optimal raw diet for our dogs.  This means only top quality ingredients, not fatty trimmings or cuts set aside as “pet food” by federal facilities.

Iron Will Raw responsibly sources premium ingredients that are fit for human consumption. Each ingredient that enters our HACCPCanada Certified facility is monitored throughout each step of the production process to ensure that our rigorous standards for both safety and quality are met. When you choose to feed your dog Iron Will Raw, you’re giving them the safest and highest quality raw pet food available!

  1. Check in for Checkups

The same goes for humans, regular checkups for pets are important! Aligning yourself with a raw friendly or holistic veterinarian can be really helpful to have the professional support to provide a well-rounded healthy lifestyle for your dog.

It is also very important to frequently monitor any changes in your pet.  You know your dog best! Taking note of new lumps or bumps, fluctuations in weight, or any other changes are the best way to catch potential issues early on.

You can take simple steps every day to help keep your dog happy and healthy! Now, who’s ready to go for a walk?
